RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR “RUN FOR THE WILD 2017”


 

  • The RUN FOR THE WILD 2017 is not a competitive event but is a charity run that aims to promote conservation awareness.
  • The “Run for the wild 2017” is open to the public. For the run, participants aged 15 years and below MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian and must obtain parental or guardian consent.
  • Registration is not considered complete until full payment is made. Registration is accepted on a first come, first served basis and is not transferable.
  • The collection period for the run pack containing an exclusive event t-shirt, bib and other materials related to the run is from 10am to 6pm on 16th December 2017 (Saturday) at WCS Malaysia Program’s office in Kuching.
  • Meanwhile, complimentary items consisting of finisher medal and the promotional materials from the organisers can only be collected on the day of the event, AFTER the run at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus. The finisher medal will be given as a souvenir to participants who have completed the run. Please present the bib to redeem the items.
  • Participants MUST wear the bib to run on the event day. This is to allow the organisers to keep track of participants during the run for safety reasons.
  • Participants are required to sign in at the registration counter(s) on the event day between 6:00am and 6:30am. The flag off will take place at 6:30am (10KM), 6:45am (5KM) and 7:00am (1.5KM). Participants will also be required to bring along their IC or passport on the event day for verification purposes.
  • Participants MUST follow the designated route and wear appropriate attire at all times during the event. (Please refer to the event website (http://www.runforthewildmalaysia.com/) for the route and compulsory attire).
  • Participants MUST display their assigned bibs on the front and back of their shirts. Participants not wearing the bib will be taken off the course by security officials.
  • By signing up and providing any information, personal or otherwise, in order to gain access to any product(s), or service(s) and / or participate in any programme(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) or any activities involving the organiser, the individual is deemed to have given written permission for the organisers to collect and analyse data of the individual. The information will not be shared but will only be used as means of follow-up where necessary.
  • The organisers reserve the right to withdraw or disqualify any of the participants from the event who are known or suspected to suffer from any health issues which might result in breaches of safety during the event or if the rules stipulated are not adhered to.
  • Please note that the venue, routes and dates for the event are subject to change due to circumstances beyond the control of the organisers. The organisers reserve the right to modify or substitute any of these rules and regulations before and during the event as they deem fit. Any amendments to these rules and regulations prior to the event will be updated on the official website.
  • The organisers have taken all due care and caution in preparation and organisation of the event. Due to the nature of the event, organisers and partners will not be held liable for any kind of direct or indirect accident / injury / death / loss of property before, during and after the event.
